Rubbena Aurangzeb-Tariq, Chair
Rubbena Aurangzeb-Tariq is a British born deaf artist from a Muslim upbringing. Her installations and paintings explore how we collect our feelings and thoughts within ourselves that are reflected through the cultural boundaries. The work created allows the artist to rebel against those boundaries through her art works.
In addition to her training in Fine Art at St Martin’s and Surrey, she is a qualified art psychotherapist and her fascination the subtle revelation of unconscious conflicts forms the core of her work, whether that tension is between cultures, people or parts of the self. Her work has been exhibited in solo shows in London and Oxford and in group exhibitions in London, Montreal, Paris, Birmingham and elsewhere, with her work being featured on both the BBC and Channel 4.
